Contents Intro.

Medical natural language processing (MedNLP) is an application of natural language processing (NLP) to medical or clinical text. This talk introduces several important work done "before" and "after" applying MedNLP, as well as giving brief basics about MedNLP itself. For the things "before" MedNLP, how we create annotated clinical text will be summarised by using our work as an example. For the work "after" MedNLP, I will show some examples of practical applications using MedNLP techniques we created. These pre/post-MedNLP studies enables MedNLP itself or enhance its social value so that medical/clinical staff and researchers can actually benefit.
