"Structural and optical properties on various kinds of Mn^2^+ and Li^+
codoped ZnGa""2O""3"".""9""5M""0"".""0""5 (M=S, Se, and Te) were investigated by
using X-ray diffraction (XRD), cathodoluminescence (CL), and
photoluminescence excitation (PLE) measurements. The results of the XRD
patterns showed that the lattice constants of the
ZnGa""2O""3"".""9""5M""0"".""0""5:Mn^2^+, Li^+ decrease with the substitution of S,
Se, and Te for the oxygen in the ZnGa""2O""4. The CL and PLE spectra
exhibited that the luminescence intensity of the
ZnGa""2O""3"".""9""5Se""0"".""0""5:Mn^2^+, Li^+ was the strongest among various
samples studied in this work. The enhancement of the luminescence intensity
in the ZnGa""2O""3"".""9""5Se""0"".""0""5:Mn^2^+, Li^+ originated from the increase
of the conductivity due to Li^+ doping. These results can help improve
understanding Mn^2^+ and Li^+ doped ZnGa""2O""3"".""9""5Se""0"".""0""5 phosphors for
the application in field-emission display devices with high brightness."
