Prof. Woo is a professor at the KAIST Graduate School of Culture Technology and the head of the KAIST AR Research Center. He served as vice President (2007-2012) and President (2013-2015) of Korea HCI Society. He has also served as the vice President of the Korea Computer Graphics Society since 2008, the CGI Society of Korea Information Science Society since 2010, and the Next Generation Computing Society since 2011. He received his BA in Electrical Engineering from Kyungpook National University in 1989, MS in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from POSTECH in 1991, and Ph.D. of Electrical Engineering from Southern California University (USC) in 1998. His main research areas are 3D vision, 3D interaction, and context-awareness for realizing ubiquitous virtual reality.
