About this service

• You can borrow books which are not in the collection of the NAIST Library, from other libraries.
• You can order to Nara Prefectural Library and Information Center. For details
• You can order 24 hours a day, but we will respond it weekdays 9:00-12:00, 13:00-17:00.

Notifications

• Interlibrary Loan service is available to faculty, staff and students, including auditors and research students.
• Mandara account ID of NAIST is required.
• Periodicals, reference books and audiovisual materials, are not available in this service.
• Round trip postage will be charged, except Nara Prefectural Library and Information Center.(Handling charge may be added in some cases.)
• Select [Expense type], 【Public】or【Private】.
  To students : You can use public expenses only if you get permission from the faculty member of your laboratory. Please check with the faculty of your laboratory before make requests.
• The borrowing period and conditions depend on the policy of the lending library.
• Please fill out the correct informations about the book you request. Otherwise it will take longer time to arrive.
• Your name, e-mail address, and affiliation are not used for any purposes other than contacting you.

Before you make requests

• Please check the title you request with "OPAC", and make sure that it is not in the collection of the NAIST Library.

OPAC and easy ordering　(Click and open）

1　When you search NAIST OPAC and it is no hit on "local location"(NAIST) but hits on "CiNii books", click "CiNii Books" tab and click the title.
2　If Nara pref. lib. holding the book, library name will appear.
3　Click "Request loan" button, these bibliographic information (title, authors, etc.) transfer to order form.

Notice of Arrival

• After the book arrived, we will notify you by e-mail. Please come to the library in service hours, from 9 am to noon, 1 pm to 5 pm.
• Please handle books carefully and return them by the due date.
• You have to return books at the counter of NAIST Library. You can not drop them into the book drop.
• If you ordered by private expense, please pay the fee when you return the book. Payments can be made from 9 am to noon, 1 pm to 5 pm. (The end of the month until 3 pm, may close early at the end of fiscal year.)

You can borrow books with free shipping from Nara Prefectural Library and Information Center. ----　How to order　---- Please check the title you request with Nara Pref. Lib. Online Catalog and make sure that it is held there. Also you can search by typing keyword into the search box below. Click the "Order" button above and choose "Lender Library" as "Order to Nara Pref. Lib." If you don't choose Lender Library as Nara Pref. Lib., shipping fee will not be free. Delivery is once a week. Select "others" in Budget,"public expense" in Expense type. If the material you ordered is unavailable, we will notify you by e-mail. ----　Notes　---- Up to five books for about 3 weeks. Current issue of periodicals, reference books, audiovisual materials and newspapers are not available in this service. ----　How to return　---- You have to return books at the counter of NAIST Library. You can not drop them into the book drop nor return to Nara Prefectural Library and Information Center directly. Remote return service for Nara Prefectural Library and Information Center. University officials or those who work or live in the Takayama area of Ikoma City can can return materials borrowed directly or by mail from the Nara Prefectural Library and information Center. Please fill in "奈良県立図書情報館資料遠隔地返却票" and hand it and books directly to the staff at the library counter.
