| Abstract: | An analytical optimization method for nonlinear beamforming is proposed. It has been shown that twice the number of noise sources, compared to conventional linear beamformers, can be cancelled by nonlinear array signal processing with complementary beamforming and spectral subtraction. However, optimization of the beamformer coefficients via conventional adaptation techniques often suffers from a severe convergence problem. In this paper, we propose a new efficient optimization algorithm by re-writing the optimization objective of the two complementary beamformer vectors in a convex minimization problem, which can be solved with an analytical solution. |
